The Women’s Foundation recently released a Status of Women in Missouri report and placed the findings on a Community Commons Hub. The Hub allows anyone to have free, easy access to a PDF version of the report and also provides an interactive environment where anyone can access and interact with the up-to-date data about Missouri women.
“Before the Women’s Foundation spearheaded this project, comprehensive statewide information about women in Missouri was not available in a usable way, and it certainly was not interactive and local. Now, through our collaboration with the Foundation, Missourians have a central research hub with a wide variety of data that’s accessible at any time and routinely updated,” said Jacqueline Schumacher, Policy Analyst at the University of Missouri’s Institute of Public Policy, at the release of the report.
Interacting with the Data
The Women’s Foundation Hub is a public space and is free for anyone to use. The static PDF report can be downloaded or a user can create a customized report using the data. In order to save any maps and reports created, a person must first register and login to Community Commons and then click the Join Hub button in the footer of the Hub home page.
From there, the Interact with the data button takes users to a Select Report Area page.
The data is organized by categories, each with indicators to help focus action steps and measure progress. A report of the methodology is available and each data section includes footnotes. The interactive report presents the data in a variety of visualization formats and can be downloaded for use in collateral materials, reports, and presentations.
We encourage you to explore the Women’s Foundation Hub and the report to learn more about you can make meaningful change for women and their families in your own community.
