Safeway Foundation Presents $50,000 to Fight Childhood Obesity

The Center for Ecoliteracy is receiving a $49,902 check – part of $2 million in grants the Safeway Foundation is giving to community health programs and hospitals in Oakland and elsewhere in Alameda County to launch grass-roots projects for the prevention and treatment of childhood obesity.
Safeway presented the grant to the officials of the Berkeley-based center at the Oakland Safeway store at 3550 Fruitvale Blvd. More….
